Therapeutic Massage: At Well Kneaded Massage, we prefer to use the umbrella term “therapeutic massage” to describe our basic massage. Each therapist uses their educational background and skilled approach to tailor your massage to you! You and your massage therapist can discuss any concerns and goals for your session. Our therapists will use any modalities within their scope of practice during your massage that they feel would be beneficial to your specific needs. Prenatal Massage: Prenatal massage is done AFTER the first trimester of pregnancy. You are required to bring a doctors note to your session. We perform prenatal massage in side-lying position as recommended by the American Pregnancy Association. Certain techniques are not recommended during a prenatal massage such as deep feet and ankle work, certain aromatherapies, and hot stone therapies.

Hot Stone Massage: Your therapist will perform massage techniques using warmed stones in addition to using their hands. The hot stones heat up muscle tissue and allows for deeper relaxation without the need for deeper pressure. This massage is perfect for someone who needs deep work but cannot handle the discomfort of traditional deep tissue massage. Hot stones are also extremely relaxing! If you have high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, neuropathy, or are on blood thinners, it is recommended that you avoid hot stone/warm bamboo massage.

Cupping Therapy/Vacuum Therapy: During cupping massage, your therapist will use plastic, glass, and/or silicone vacuum cups in combination with massage techniques to create a suction, forming space in the tissue. This creates a negative pressure that can loosen muscles, sedate the nervous system, break up scar tissue, realign fascia, and  increase blood flow to the area to help heal the tissue and promote cell repair. Cupping therapy pulls toxins and blood to the surface of the skin which may be leave the skin temporarily discolored with circular marks in the practiced areas for up to 10 days after your session. If you wish to avoid the possibility of discoloration, please make your therapist aware as there are cupping techniques that are less likely to leave marks, but can still provide wonderful benefits. If you have heart conditions, kidney issues, bleeding disorders, or are on blood thinners, it is recommended to avoid cupping therapy.

Lymphatic Drainage: Lymphatic drainage incorporates long, gentle, rhythmic strokes to increase lymphatic flow and reduce toxins throughout the body.

Table Thai Massage: Intensive stretching and deep compression increase the flow of synovial fluid into the joints, increases flexibility. This is done fully clothed, please wear flexible clothing during your session.

Oncology Massage: This service modifies existing techniques so they can be performed safely and support complications with cancer and cancer treatments. A doctor's release for treatment is required, as well as the type of chemotherapy being done, if any. If radiation is being performed, please be prepared to mention which lymph nodes are involved.

Ayurvedic Shirodhara Massage: During this 60 minute specialized session, you will receive 30 minutes  back and neck massage, 15 minutes foot reflexology, and 15 minutes face and scalp massage. During the scalp and face massage, warm, pure Ayurvedic oils will drip slowly onto the forehead and be pulled into the hair. Pure Ayurvedic oils are a mix of several oils and herbs that help counteract the effects of stress, promote healthy sleep, and reduce anxiety. The warm oils will be left in your hair and you will be provided with a disposable shower cap to cover your hair. The oils may be left in for as many hours as you choose and are very beneficial to the hair and scalp.

Couple’s Massage: Couple’s massage is performed by two therapists, allowing both clients to be massaged in the same room at the same time and is offered for an hour or longer.

Body Wraps with Terri (309) 696-9184

Choose from a hydrating and refreshing, healing, or detoxifying masque for this 90 minute session. Your chosen masque will be applied and you will be wrapped and receive a face and scalp massage and foot scrub while the ​masque warms on the skin. The masque will be removed with warm towels and you will receive a full body massage with a hydrating body cream.

Aromatherapy: Your therapist will provide you with their aromatherapy options for you to choose from. You can choose based on scent or results you wish to achieve from your session. Each therapist has their own way of utilizing essential oils during your session. $10

Aromatherapy Scalp Massage: Essential oil of your choice is used while giving some extra attention to the scalp portion of the massage. This is a great option to help relieve headaches and promote deeper relaxation. $10

Foot Scrub/Hand Scrub: Feeling a little rough? Let us scrub the stress away. This not only feels great, but leaves the feet or hands silky smooth. $10

Back Treatment: This treatment cleanses and exfoliates your back to remove dead skin cells, unclog pores, and retain moisture with a refreshing mud mask finished with a relaxing back massage and hot towel. This can be added on to any massage sessions booked only with Katie (309) 648-8516. $10

Paraffin Dip: This is a perfect addition to any massage. After your hands and feet are massaged, they will be placed into a paraffin bag and allowed to dry. This form of heat therapy helps increase blood flow, relax muscles, and decrease joint stiffness. Not to mention softer, more youthful skin. Reflexology: Reflexology stimulates nerve functions that help your body increase energy levels and circulation and alleviate headaches and insomnia.
